Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento - in accordo con gli obiettivi formativi del Corso di Laurea - si propone di approfondire l’evoluzione storica del concetto di ciò che oggi definiamo ‘Patrimonio culturale’ nelle sue sfaccettate accezioni visibile/invisibile, materiale/immateriale, e di preparare a una adeguata conoscenza delle grandi linee evolutive delle Istituzioni legate – a seconda del periodo storico - alla identificazione, alla tutela e alla valorizzazione del ‘patrimonio culturale’ in età moderna e contemporanea. In parallelo si presterà attenzione anche alle innovazioni culturali che tali istituzioni riuscirono a produrre in termini di appartenenza civile e di partecipazione consapevole.
Il corso intende, quindi, offrire alle studentesse e agli studenti:
- conoscenze specifiche e capacità di comprensione riguardo al processo che in età moderna e contemporanea ha condotto alla nascita e all'affermazione del concetto di ‘Patrimonio’ e di ‘Patrimonio culturale’;
- conoscenze specifiche e capacità di comprensione del processo che in età moderna e contemporanea ha condotto alla nascita e all’evoluzione di Istituzioni legate alla identificazione, alla tutela e alla promozione del Patrimonio culturale;
- competenze storiografiche e conoscenze teoriche per riflettere - in autonomia e criticamente – sui nessi, spesso innovativi, che nel corso dell'età moderna e contemporanea si sono attivati tra istituzioni, società civile e ‘patrimonio culturale’;
- capacità critiche, argomentative, comunicative e lessicali appropriate alla materia e ai profili professionali che il Corso di Laurea si propone di formare.
Learning Objectives
The teaching - in accordance with the educational objectives of the Degree Course - aims to deepen the historical evolution of the concept of what we now define 'Cultural Heritage', in its multifaceted visible / invisible, material / immaterial meanings, and to prepare to an adequate knowledge of the major evolutionary lines of the Institutions linked - depending on the historical period - to the identification, protection and enhancement of the 'cultural heritage' in the modern and contemporary age. In parallel, attention will also be paid to the cultural innovations that these institutions managed to produce in terms of civic belonging and conscious participation.
The course therefore intends to offer students:
- specific knowledge and understanding of the process that in the modern and contemporary age led to the birth and affirmation of the concept of 'Heritage' and 'Cultural Heritage'
- specific knowledge and understanding of the process that in the modern and contemporary age led to the birth and evolution of institutions related to the identification, protection and promotion of cultural heritage;
- historiographical skills and theoretical knowledge to reflect - independently and critically - on the often innovative links that have been activated in the course of the modern and contemporary age between institutions, civil society and 'cultural heritage';
- critical, argumentative, communicative and lexical skills appropriate to the subject and professional profiles that the Degree Course aims to train.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi
Al termine dell'insegnamento le studentesse e gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di possedere una buona conoscenza degli argomenti trattati a lezione e di avere la capacità di utilizzare in autonomia e consapevolmente gli strumenti critici forniti durante tutte le attività didattiche.
In particolare, le studentesse e gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di:
- Riconoscere i concetti-base relativi alla ‘storia del Patrimonio culturale’ come offerti durante le lezioni e con lo studio del materiale messo a disposizione sulla piattaforma moodle;
- Conoscere e descrivere le origini, l'evoluzione delle diverse forme di organizzazione istituzionale legate a ciò che oggi definiamo ‘Patrimonio culturale’ nonché alle innovazioni che attorno a esse si produssero in termini di appartenenza civile e di partecipazione consapevole alla comunità politica;
- Riconoscere gli strumenti analitici e critici propri della disciplina come presentati nel corso delle lezioni e delle letture messe a disposizione in aula e caricati sulla piattaforma moodle;
- Applicare tali strumenti critici per darne conto con competenza (conoscenza e capacità applicate);
- Discutere le varie ed eventuali interpretazioni dei principali studiosi dei grandi temi relativi alla storia del ‘patrimonio culturale’ così come presentati e discussi nel corso delle lezioni;
- Utilizzare il lessico tecnico così come utilizzato dal docente durante tutte le attività didattiche e conforme ai profili tecnici che il Corso di Laurea si propone di formare;
- Argomentare con autonomia e capacità critica i principali temi affrontati nel corso delle lezioni.
Expected Outcomes
At the end of the course, female students must demonstrate that they have a good knowledge of the topics covered in class and that they have the ability to use independently and consciously the critical tools provided during all teaching activities.
In particular, female students and students must be able to:
- Recognize the basic concepts relating to the 'history of cultural heritage' as offered during the lessons and with the study of the material made available on the moodle platform;
- Know and describe the origins, the evolution of the different forms of institutional organization linked to what we now define 'Cultural Heritage' as well as the innovations that were produced around them in terms of civil belonging and conscious participation in the political community;
- Recognize the analytical and critical tools of the discipline as presented in the course of the lessons and readings made available in the classroom and uploaded to the moodle platform;
- Apply these critical tools to account for them with competence (knowledge and applied skills);
- Discuss the various and possible interpretations of the main scholars of the major issues relating to the history of 'cultural heritage' as presented and discussed during the lessons;
- Use the technical vocabulary as used by the teacher during all teaching activities and in compliance with the technical profiles that the Degree Course aims to train;
- Argue with autonomy and critical ability the main topics addressed during the lessons.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento prevede:
- lezioni 'frontali' svolte, in presenza (compatibilmente con le disposizioni ministeriali e/o rettorali eventualmente sopraggiunte per gli sviluppi della situazione epidemiologica), con l’ausilio di slides, schede riepilogative e materiali di supporto. Le slides, le schede riepilogative, i tutti i materiali di supporto saranno messe a disposizione sulla piattaforma moodle;
- lezioni dal carattere riepilogativo e interattivo per stimolare e verificare in itinere le conoscenze e le abilità apprese durante le lezioni 'frontali'; tali attività permetteranno anche di valutare l'autonomia di giudizio nonché le abilità comunicative dello studente.
La frequenza alle lezioni (in presenza e/o a distanza) non è obbligatoria ma vivamente consigliata.
Fatto salvo quanto detto in merito a un eventuale protrarsi della situazione emergenziale, alle studentesse e agli studenti che non potranno frequentare le lezioni in presenza sarà assicurata la possibilità di fruire delle lezioni con deposito dei files audio/video nella piattaforma Moodle, insieme al materiale didattico.
Teaching Methods
The course includes:
- 'frontal' lessons held, in person (compatibly with ministerial and / or rectoral provisions that may have occurred due to developments in the epidemiological situation), with the aid of slides, summary sheets and supporting materials. - summarizing and interactive lessons to stimulate and verify the knowledge and skills learned during the 'frontal' lessons; these activities will also make it possible to evaluate the student's independent judgment and communication skills.
Attending lessons (in person and / or remotely) is not compulsory but highly recommended
Without prejudice to what has been said regarding a possible continuation of the emergency situation, female students and students who will not be able to attend lessons in person will be guaranteed the possibility of using the lessons with the deposit of audio / video files on the Moodle platform, together with the teaching material.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Per tutti l’esame finale è orale con la registrazione del voto in trentesimi; l’esame si svolgerà di norma in presenza ma – se previsto dalla normativa vigente al momento dell’esame e per chiunque rientri nei casi previsti dalla stessa normativa - è garantita la modalità a distanza.
Per le studentesse e per gli studenti che scelgono di prepararsi sul materiale messo a disposizione sulla piattaforma moodle seguendo anche il percorso di lezioni, in presenza o a distanza:
Per un proficuo dialogo tra docente e discenti, per favorire la preparazione dell'esame finale e, coerentemente con i risultati attesi, al fine di verificare l'apprendimento - in itinere - si prevede il ricorso a:
- Questionari interattivi sulla piattaforma moodle sui temi svolti nel corso delle lezioni;
- Attività seminariali e/o di discussione collettiva sui temi affrontati a lezione.
La valutazione finale si basa su un colloquio orale nel quale si valuteranno le conoscenze scientifiche acquisite e le competenze critiche, argomentative e lessicali acquisite.
Per le studentesse e per gli studenti che non potranno fequentare, anche non in presenza e che sono al contempo impossibilitate/i a fruire del materiale caricato sulla piattaforma moodle è offerta la possibilità di preparare l'esame sui testi consigliati:
Il colloquio, si svolgerà sul contenuto dei testi consigliati indicati di seguito e sarà finalizzato alla verifica delle abilità, delle competenze e delle conoscenze apprese dallo studio dei testi di riferimento.
Nella valutazione finale il docente terrà conto sia dell'appropriatezza dei contenuti e del linguaggio sia della coerenza e della chiarezza espositiva.
N.B.: la modalità di svolgimento dell'esame per la verifica dell'apprendimento potrà subire variazioni in base alle limitazioni imposte dalla crisi sanitaria.
Evaluation Procedure

For a fruitful dialogue between teacher and learners, to facilitate the preparation of the final exam and, consistently with the expected results, in order to verify the learning - in itinere - the use of:
- Interactive questionnaires on the moodle platform on the topics covered during the lessons;
- Seminar activities and / or collective discussion on the topics addressed in class.
The final evaluation is based on an oral interview in which the acquired scientific knowledge and the critical, argumentative and lexical skills acquired will be evaluated.
For female students and for students who will not be able to attend, even if not in attendance and who are at the same time unable to use the material uploaded on the moodle platform, the possibility is offered to prepare the exam on the recommended texts:
The interview will take place on the content of the recommended texts indicated below and will be aimed at verifying the skills, competences and knowledge learned from the study of the reference texts.
In the final evaluation, the teacher will take into account both the appropriateness of the contents and the language and the coherence and clarity of the presentation.

L'insegnamento ha carattere generale e si divide in due parti:
- Nella prima parte offrirà un'analisi critica dei processi che hanno condotto all’affermazione del concetto di cio’ che oggi chiamiamo ‘Patrimonio culturale’ e alla nascita di apposite istituzioni preposte alla sua identificazione, alla sua tutela e alla sua valorizzazione all’interno dei principali ordinamenti statali d’Occidente tra prima età moderna e età contemporanea.
- Nella seconda si soffermerà in maniera ravvicinata sul caso italiano osservato dal duplice punto di vista istituzionale e ‘culturale’. In questa parte si presterà attenzione alla storia moderna e contemporanea per giungere a analizzare le tappe più significative della storia nostrana: dalle prime leggi sulla tutela, al dibattito novecentesco fino alle recenti vicende legate alla stesura del codice dei beni culturali e alle sue successive applicazioni.
Programme
The teaching is general and is divided into two parts:
- In the first part it will offer a critical analysis of the processes that led to the affirmation of the concept of what we now call 'Cultural Heritage' and to the birth of specific institutions responsible for its identification, protection and enhancement within of the main state systems of the West between the early modern age and the contemporary age.
- In the second, he will focus closely on the Italian case observed from the dual institutional and 'cultural' point of view. In this part, attention will be paid to modern and contemporary history in order to analyze the most significant stages of our local history: from the first laws on protection, to the twentieth-century debate to the recent events related to the drafting of the code of cultural heritage and its subsequent applications.
